Gallium Nitride (GaN) Controller

To further our research and development portfolio, significant effort is spent testing and creating new designs with the cutting edge technologies available for motor control and high power applications. The latest of these technologies is Gallium Nitride MOSFETs or GaN. GaN components introduce a class-leading range of efficiencies for lower voltage designs when compared to traditional Silicon and Silicon Carbide technologies.

APD has delivered customised GaN solutions ranging from 100-200V, capable of output power levels exceeding 15kW for electric drive applications, boasting greater efficiencies and a power density of up to 3x greater than equivalent silicon systems.
